Every real biker knows what we are talking about: The Elefantentreffen, a motorbike reunion that for more than 60 years is the most famous winter riders' meeting worldwide.
It takes place in January in Loh, close to Solla just 40 kms far from Passau in Germany and for 3 days (actually for 1 week) attracts the most daring and folkloristic bikers.
It 's definitely an experience to live at least once in your lifetime! Here the true spirit of motorcyclists -the motorcycle, nature and friendship- dominates the scene: there are no sponsors, no brands, you are the protagonist!
Snow and fire coexist in a spectacular landscape, especially when the sun goes down and the snowy valleys become full of bikers from all over the world, speaking different languages, drinking cold beers and living in peace far away from the comfort and conformism….
 

We arrive from Italy ( see map for details) but there are thousands of ways to get there.
What we thought to give you here is just 10 useful tips to enhance your motorcycle experience.

1st_Setting up camp takes time and It requires daylight so plan to arrive at the place no later than 12pm. Even though the rally officially starts on Friday but many come earlier and then leave on Saturday.
2nd_The cold weather is even cooler than you think so suitable clothing is required, otherwise comfortable and warm things...who cares about fashion!
3rd_Hand-guards are unmissable to ride up there!
4th_Fire: firewood is available on site at a low cost!
5th_Food and Drinks: There are two food points there but please note being self-sufficient could help. Use PROPANE for your campfire because Butane freezes and you cannot use it at all!
6th_Toilets are available... but I recommend the natural approach ;) always with respect!
7th_If you have a bike cover ... use it! The battery will die but at least your motorcycle won't be completely frozen.
8th_Jumper cables will be useful for you or for others;)
9th_To get into the camping site you need wheel chains, this is mandatory!

10th_The only rule for this rally is: DO it by yourself and Help others to do it also!
